First Grade learned something amazing about the time when Jesus started his ministry. We discussed the difference between our baptism and the baptism of Jesus. We learned that Jesus was baptized as an adult while most of us were baptized as a baby. We enjoyed talking about how we imagined ourselves if we were baptized as adults and what would we feel about it. It was a very interesting discussion. We were also fascinated upon learning the reasons why many people followed Jesus and were converted to Christianity. Here are our pictures to show you we are working very hard. Mrs. Peters has created and set up some wonderful centers we can work on when we finished our tasks. Here are pictures of us working on those centers.
We are in the season of Advent, a very important season for all of us Christians. John the Baptist life was fueled by one burning passion- to point others to Jesus Christ and to the coming of His kingdom. John is our best example to have that same burning desire to follow Jesus. First Grade has been busy discussing ways to show compassion for others in this season of Advent to prepare our hearts to celebrate the coming birthday of our Savior. Here are pictures of us working very hard in Religion, Science, and Social Studies class with Mrs. Peters. |
